They see themselves caught in crystal ice where they find out only until the next morning with the help of the village. Stifter versifies the relatively simple story with few means to an intensive impression. The snow falling steadily and the children marching unwaveringly makes the reader feel a mysterious unity. Hauff: Märchen

Nostradamus, actually Michel de Nostredame (1503 - 1566) was pharmacist and probably also a doctor. In 1550 he began to publish annual almanacs for farming. He nevertheless got famous even during his lifetime through his prophecies in prose. Though these prophecies were controversial at that time and today still attract many sceptics they yet contain with the whole scope of interpretation prophecies that come incredibly close to the truth.
