Product Information

Martin Luther, an Augustinian monk and professor of theology, was the initiator of the Reformation. He found in God's promise of grace and justification through Jesus Christ alone the essence of the Christian faith. On this basis he wanted to eliminate the misguided developments of the Roman Catholic Church at that time with the sale of indulgences and restore it to its original Protestant form. Contrary to Luther's intentions, a schism in the Church came about from which Protestant-Lutheran churches and, in the course of the Reformation, other denominations of Protestantism emerged.
