Biography of Frédéric Chopin
This biography gives an insight into the life of Frédéric Chopin (1810 - 1849) the great Polish composer and pianist. He was seen as a child genius as he composed his first works already at the age of seven (his first polonaise was printed in 1817). Because of tuberculosis of which he died at an early age of 39 years he spent many months with his great love the six-years-older writer George Sand in Majorca for its mild climate. Chopin's main work was composed for piano and has amazed generations of people owing to its virtuosity and wonderful melodies until today. To this brilliant piano poet the third volume of the series "musicians" is dedicated.
