Biography of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy
The second volume of the series "musicians" that started so successfully with the miniature book about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart focuses on Felix Mendelssohn (1808 - 1842) the later Mendelssohn-Bartholdy grandson of the outstanding Jewish philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. On many journeys Mendelssohn made his way through all of Germany, to Paris and also often to England. There he was received with huge enthusiasm. In Leipzig he founded the first conservatoire in Germany, the Conservatorium. Today he is still worshiped as a great composer and not only in Leipzig.
